Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics Book Study

This book study will focus on the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics K -12: 14 Teaching Practices for Enhancing Learning by Peter Liljedahl. Learn how to help your students do more thinking and less mimicking in math class. Learn how to create an environment that is focused on collaboration and student-centered learning where thinking is the norm.

The book helps teachers implement 14 optimal practices for thinking that sets students up for deep mathematical thinking and breaks these 14 practices into four clusters. Each session of our book study will focus on a different cluster. Clusters include: student behaviors, teaching practices, creating flow, and assessment.

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event. CESA #4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA #4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA #4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment.
